The Writing Center

The writing center it was a generally helpful tool. I told my fellow  that I want to work on transitions and he did not question a thing. I think that is a really good thing to have on campus.  My fellow in I went over my transitions and he looked at general grammar and fluency of the paper to see how it flows. They said that everything worked well. I was very grateful for this because it has enlightened me to my mistakes, but they were very minor.I also think that it is a double edged sword and this is why.

The writing center can only help you with your grammar. If it is content wise they cannot really help you and I understand that because that is just not feasible for them to help everybody with content. Nonetheless I do think that is a great resource to check your grammar and just to get more fluency tips, which I struggle on. All in all I think it is a very good resource to have at nine disposal.

Lathan's Prompt response

In my mind, the perfect world would be something along the lines of peace on earth. I think I would really like there to be video games all around and no school. I feel like there might need to be some school though because you learn something useful up until fifth grade. I think we should also have much better medical care for the entire rest of the world.

I think these things for a multitude of reasons. The first, is that I love video games that I will never ever stop loving video games. I want there to be more medical care because I see people with not enough all around and I wish I could do something about it. The next thing is school. This is a tricky one because sometimes I like school but sometimes I don't. I honestly think that it should be up to the people.

Competitive Season 3 Rant

I am so glad that I have a free topic this week and I decided that I will be talking about season 3 of Competitive Overwatch. I have written about this game in the past, but today I am going to have to say some good and not so good things about it, so let’s get into it.

This season just started on Wednesday before this post, but my team and I didn’t place until Sunday because we had school during the week. We placed in silver tier. This I one of the lower tiers and we were placed in gold last season which is higher, but we won more placement games than the season before. It just doesn’t make any sense. Blizzard, Overwatch developers, have said this is to spread out people among the ranks. Why couldn’t they just add another tier for people. It is just so frustrating.

On the good side of things, after you place you can keep playing and win or lose games. This season it is easier to climb out of your tier because win count more than losses. In the last season, loses and wins were counted equally, so if you won 1 and lost 1 then you were back at you same rank give or take a few points. This season if you do the same thing then you will have a net gain in your rank. I personally like this because it gives more room for error and gives players more incentive to keep playing.

The one thig learned about this season is that I think it will be better for the Overwatch community as a whole when it is all said and done. Anything that makes the community grow I will support, so I must support it no matter how much I dislike it now.

Literary Analysis Process

I think my literary analysis has gone very well so far. I have already turned it in, but I must say, this is very easy and very challenging in some ways. The first way that it is easy is that Dr. D made us do an outline. I know that sounds bad, but it really helps to plan out your paper. It is basically a road map to your paper. It took me only about an hour to make it flow the best I could with the outline. My last paper took me 3 hours to do. The outline makes a difference.

It has been had for me because it is a paper. I am not really good at writing papers. I am just ok. I have had trouble finding my quotes and what not, but the one thing that troubles me the most on all papers is sentence fluency and how the paper generally flows. This is always been an area that I struggle in and I hope the writing center can help me with this issue.

My symbolic story

I went to the store and bought a turkey. At my house we always have a turkey at Thanksgiving meal, it is tradition. Then I prepared the turkey for the feast we were to have. I also prepared some stuffing and some other fillers. I prepared the turkey nice and hot for the family. The turkey is the second best part. The best is the family. The all hater at my house and we have fun from there, but that is only half the day.

The next half is we get in the car and drive to my other family's house. I hate the car because it is so confined but that is what people do for there family. We then drive to New Orleans. I eat and i take a nap on the way back. That is my Thanksgiving day story and I hope you enjoyed.

How to use an Xbox One

Using a Xbox can be a very complex task, but with this quick guide you will be using your Xbox One in no time at all. The first thing is to plug in the correct cords to your Xbox and to the TV. You want to plug the HDMI cord into with the TV and the Xbox. Then you want to plug the power cable into and outlet. That is only the hardware part of the setup. Now time to learn the interface.

The Xbox One interface is very self explanatory. So here is a quick guide on how to do it. You will need to turn on the Xbox first, then you want to press the Xbox logo button on the controller. Once you do that you will sign into a Microsoft Account. Then you will be all ready to play, assuming you have a game of course. If this guide is terrible than please refer to your owners book for extensive help. That is it for the Xbox One setup guide.

Battlefield 1

My free post this week will be about video games. I know shocking right. This week I will be talking about Battlefield 1. This game was made by EA and Dice and they hit the nail on the head with this game. They wanted it to be fun but also historically accurate. They accomplished both of these things in the same game. This was a home run in design, but also fun factor.

This game looks great as well. It is so beautiful. The building look real and the bushes look real. Everything looks so real. I love the accurate sounds and the story. EA and Dice pulled real life war stories from WW1 and put them in the game. This game is also very educational. You learn about the people involved and lots of other thing. This game makes the WW very sad but also shines light on the great parts as well.
