Dear Younger Person

Dear 10-year old,

There will be a lot of challenges in you life. I suggest that you just stick through it. You will feel like giving up. Just push through it. Also use good grammar in your e-mails. School will be tough and you will probably want to quit. If you quit or don't try it will be very hard in high school. Trust me, it is hard as it is.

The other thing you need to consider is family and free time. There is a fine balance of school, family, and free time. I really mean this. I had to take some time out of my day for free time. I also complete my school work. You must find a good balance in life. That is crucial to your success as a person in life. Please follow this advice.

The House of Hades

The book is peaking at this point. The heroes are still separated and people are going down. They have lots of problems. I am really wondering why the heroes need to have so many monsters attack. That is all this book is. It is just monster attacks. Every moment of the book their are monsters. Their is no down time.

Anyway, now that I have that out of my system I will talk about how people in this book are separated. There are two groups of people. One group is in the underworld and the others are above ground. This is a very good writing mechanic to have in this book. It gives the book more depth. I really like this and if it is in the other books of series, I will read them.

Katrina post

Katrina was a devastating occurrence. I watch some of a documentary for this blog and it was very informative. It was sad that people were still left in the city, but most of them choose to stay or they didn’t have transportation. I also never knew that the Super Dome’s roof was blown off by Katrina. This to me was an astonishing thing. The video said that the building was built to withstand 200 mph winds, that is so crazy.

I also thought to myself, could it of been a government officials fault for more people dying. Should they have called an emergency evacuation earlier. Some say yes and others no. I guess it is just how you look at it. I didn’t realize that New Orleans was as poor as it was. The city’s poverty rate was double the national average. This hurricane (hopefully) will be the worst hurricane that the U.S.A will have to prepare for. I hope that we have learned that we need to prepare better in the future.

Free Choice Reading Book

The House of Hades is getting more intense by the page. The heroes now are searching for the doors of death. Rick Riordan has done something that other people attempt to do, but don’t really pull it off as well. He switches between perspectives of his charters and he uses that as sort of chapters so to speak. This is especially helpful if some charters are in some place and others are somewhere else. This also allows him to do this more.

I have also noticed that his book is very dark at this point in the story. He tends to have a pattern. That is when something keeps getting worse and, eventually, the heroes or characters get the job done and are not in trouble anymore. This makes for a predictable, but yet satisfying approach and feel to his books.

Water

It was a normal day in LA. Hot, humid, it's Louisiana people. I was at my house at about 9:30 PM Central time. I walked over to my fridge to get some water. The water was a frigid 68 degrees. I decided to put some ice in the water because it wasn't cold enough for the warm taste buds of my mouth. I then put the water into the freezer for that extra bit of cooling power. The freezer was what you would expect, cold, dark, and very freezerish. I had ice incasing the storage department of the freezer. I closed the freezer and walked away.

I then went to look at my Youtubers' post and forgot that my water was in the fridge. It only took about 2 and a half minutes to freeze. Then with the 1 minute I had left in my story, I thought how I could make a comedy about the freezer called, "Two and a Half Minutes in a freezer." Then I thought I don't think I could drag out this TV show for 12 seasons. Although, History does suggest that it can be done. That concluded the 5 minutes I had for this piece.

The Old Man and the Sea

The Old Man and the Sea is book focused on one thing and one thing only, a man that spends three days at sea to catch a fish. I would really like to know why I read this book. I know why I read it, because it was short. It is only about 150 pages long and since I hate reading it worked.

This book took no effort to write about at all! The author, Ernest Hemingway, just dragged on a event that should of happened in about 20 pages to about 60 pages. It was soooooooooooo boring. A fair piece if advice, you shouldn't read this book. Please spare yourself the time and don't read this!!!
