Procrastination: Is Your Future Self Getting a Bad Deal? The Response

The essential message that the author (Timothy A Pychyl) is trying to say is that procrastination is burdening you in the future. The explanation behind why we do this is that we, as humans, think that we will have something that we didn’t have the first time we thought to attempt this. An example of this is energy. She also links the reason to empathy. As human beings, Timothy P. says that we need empathy, not just for yourself, but for the people you interact with.

I personally think that this is a great understanding of the action of procrastination. It is also a very different way of looking at it. This document states that the fallacy of we have something more tomorrow is just that, a fallacy. This fallacy is because it is counteracted by the fact that you will have new roadblocks the next day. So, in theory, it is better to take action sooner than later. This concept that most people should take through their daily lives.
